Sharon the runner

I am a senior Australia-based arts and features journalist with over 15 years experience working across the country's leading mastheads, including The Weekend Australian and the Sydney Morning Herald.

I have also worked as a New York-based freelance writer for Australian publications, and hold a position as a regular contributor to TIME magazine. My work has also appeared in BBC News, The Guardian, The Age, The Good Weekend, Review in the Weekend Australian, the Sun Herald, Gourmet Traveller, SBS online, Time Out New York and The New Daily.

Along with freelancing, I have also been commissioned to write a book: a memoir of the life of leading Australian arts patron, academic, gallerist and philanthropist Dr Gene Sherman.

My focus is on the arts, culture, food, travel and lifestyle. I particularly enjoy travel writing, with pieces on the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, river cruising in Provence, trekking in outback South Australia and Kangaroo Island, food tourism in Tasmania, Machu Picchu, Cuszo and the South American food scene, Bollywood culture and the Indian film industry, the world's greatest art in Paris, and the Hermitage collection in St Petersburg.
